Raining Season Finally Comes After Long Hot Summer 

Summer was hot, really hot this year. Many well and ponds out in the villages dried off. People were struggling to get clean water. Many cows died of hot weather. Our fruit trees were also affected. We spent a bit of money to buy water to water the fruit tree, to make sure it survived to the raining season. Raining season is finally here! 

Digging a Pond for Sakada Church

As it begin to rain heavier and heavier, we face another problem, flooding and bad road condition. Every raining season, we face problem of transportation to the villages. Roads to some villages are just too difficult to travel. It looks like that we face different problems in different seasons. But God is good, he always provide us with the alternatives. 

In our effort to becoming self supporting, we begin our agriculture projects. One of them is the chicken bank project and the other is fruit tree plantation. The chicken bank project supported by Faith Methodist Church in Singapore. The project seeks to help church members and villagers to have a better livelihood by providing them a farm with 8 hens and 2 roosters and other feeding material. Some farms are doing well yet some other still struggling to make profits. We are also planing to build a medium size farm for a group of youth in one of our churches. The farm will serve two purposes. One,  to provide the youth the skill of running the farm as business, and to provide resource for their education. 

Cashew Plantations 

We also planted 100 cashew trees in Tropang Tem Church land and 150 lime, jackfruit and mango trees  in Sakada village. 

Our next agriculture project would be bamboo plantation and green orange trees. We are seeking help to purchase land and the capital to start this project. We need 2 hectares of land for green orange trees plantation and 10 hectares for bamboo plantation. The project will be able to generate good amount of money to support the church planting and discipleship ministry. Please pray with us. (Please contact Rev. A few prayer requests we would like to share with you;

1. Please continue to pray for our need of a pick up truck for church planting and discipleship ministry. We need around US$15,000.00 to US$18,000.00 for the truck. 
2. Please pray for good amount of rain so that the villagers would be able to farm well and that the harvest will be better.
3. Please pray for Tropang Tem and Sakada Church for steady growth. Pray that God will raise leaders among the people of these churches. 
4. Please for protection as some part of the new villages we go to are still at risk of land mines. 
5. Please pray for provision for our ministry. We are short financially this year. 

January 2015 Updates - The Year begins with great blessings

There is so much to thank God for. He is good all the time!

The new year 2015 begins with so much great blessing. Around 60 people were baptised on the second week of January 2015. A group of villagers from a new village came to one of our worship services and 25 of them prayed to accept Christ into their lives.

A piece of land was purchased and a new worship hall was built for another village church. We praise God and grateful for a team from Pathway Fellowship, California for their services and funding for the new building and the land. Pathway has been coming to help us in the past years and they are faithful in their partnership with us. They have blessed so many lives. To Pathway team 2015, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

We also would like to thank Faith Methodist Church and students team from ACJC Singapore for

coming to help us build bridge with the villagers and a school nearby. Faith Methodist Church help donated fund for the construction of a wooden building for Rohal school. The building will be used for two classrooms for the secondary classes. The students were having their classes under a not so good structure for years. Last year, the structure collapsed and the principal could not find any place to house the two classes. We thank God for the responds from Faith MC  to help with the building and sending students team to work with us.
Now the grade 8 and 9 students have their proper classroom. To God be the Glory!!!

We also want to express our thank to Young Asian Women Development team for their services
among our village churches children, youth and adults. They served around 400 children and youth and around 100 adults. They have shown so much love and kindness to the children in the villages and that really soften the harden hearts of the villagers.

God is bringing more people to help us in our church planting ministry.

We always pray for more labourers for God ready filed and He is answering our prayers.

We are going in to another new village this coming Saturday with a team from Singapore. Most of the team members are young. They are interested in serving God full time in the future. So it would be a good experience for them to work directly with the unreach villagers in the rural areas.

Please continue to pray for us that we will remain faithful in reaching out to the unreach people. Pray that God will build our team even stronger so that we can impact more lives. Please also pray for our financial need for ministry.

We are in need of a 4 wheels vehicle for our village works. Please pray with us. We need between US$15,000.00 to US$18,000.00

The Mustard Seed School - Moving Forward

This year is the sixth year of journey of the Mustard Seed School. Started in a very small wooden building with only two teachers and a staff, now the School is growing tremendously. Now we have 8 teachers and one staff. We have moved to our new building which houses 200 over students. God is good all the time!

 To the villagers, the school is known as THE JESUS SCHOOL. We are happy with this name as it reflecting our goal to make Jesus known to all people in the community and beyond. All our teachers and staff are committed Christians. All students are taught Christian value. Every Friday, we have Bible story time for the students. Most of them remember the story of Jesus by heart. Our prayer is that they not only know the story about Jesus but get know Him personally.

Among the 200 over students, half of them come from poor families in the community. We are now seeking help for sponsorship for them. We need US$10.00 per student per month for those in part time ESL classes and US$20.00 for those study full time.

We are also in need 4 computer laptops for classroom use, and a photocopy machine.

Reaching Out to New Villages

The Macedonia Call 

About a year ago, a man came to our Christmas outreach program in one of our village churches. He traveled 65Km on his old motorbike on a bumpy road just to meet us. During the worship service, this man listened very carefully to the message and paid attention to all programs.
As usual, we had a small Christmas lunch party for all our people. After lunch, the man came to me and said, "pastor, will you come to my village to teach our people about God?" I asked him why he want his people to know God. He said he have heard how God works among the villagers where our churches are and he wants his people to know God be blessed. After long talk, we send him off with prayer and promised that we will go to his village. 

After spending time prayer for a few months. we made our first visit to the new village. To our surprise, about 150 people were waiting for us there. I did a short Bible studies with them and then broke into groups. Each one of us on the team went to each group and shared the gospel with them. At the end of the sharing, 16 of them prayed to accept Christ. 
We did not only shared the gospel with them, we prayed for the sick as well. We left the village late afternoon promising them that we will be back sometimes soon. 

After two weeks, we went back again. This time 260 people, children, youth and adults came to the meeting. We taught the children and youth some songs and they really enjoyed the singing. At the end of the program, I asked if anyone want to invite Jesus into their lives, guess what? 65 of them prayed to accept Jesus. We praise God for their lives. 

We are now going there regularly. We hope more villagers will come to Christ. 

Oh! I forgot something! We don't have a place for our meeting. No houses are big enough to hold the meeting for a big crowd. The man that came to us to invite us to his village is a village chief. He let us use a wooden building which was built for Buddhist ceremony to meet and preach the gospel to his people. That's amazing how God work!!! Glory to His name!!! 

OCTOBER 2013 MINISTRY UPDATES

This Year flooding affected many people in the country. We thank God for His protection. Some of our members and the students were also affected but they well.
Most of our village churches members are happy as their crop this year is good. There was more than enough water for their farming this year. The farming time was great and people are waiting for the harvest to come. It is very interesting to observe how the farmers are so excited as the harvest time is getting closer. It is also reminded me of our wait for the Lord to return. Excitement appeared on the face of many as the time is getting closer!

TROPANG TEM CHURCH

- English Class Outreach: The number of students
in the English Classes Outreach is growing. There were 25 new students from a secondary school nearby (5 Km away) came to the English Class. We are now making 10 more table for the class. We hope to reach out to these young people and their family.

- Library: We are raising fund to build a library for Tropang Tem Church. As there are many young people in our church as well as the villages around us, we feel that there is a need for a library for this area. The government system in this area is very poor. Students do not have any resource to help them with their studies. There is NO LIBRARY in this area. We need around US$3,500.00 to build an extension room of   6 m by 5 m, furniture and books. So please pray with us.

SAKADA VILLAGE

Sakada is growing slow in number. There are 15 to 20 adults attending the fellowship every Saturday.
We praise God for the faithfulness of these people. Even facing difficulties in their lives, they still follow Jesus faithfully.
People in Sakada Church are facing food shortage. We need US$900.00 to purchase food packages for 30 families in this church. Many of these people do not own land for plantation. They work for other people. Because of the flood this year, there were no work for them to do. So they are facing urgent food shortage. Please pray with us.



PATHWAY FELLOWSHIP

We praise God for Pathway! It is growing well. We had 5 more youths attending our worship service in the last few weeks. Regular attendant is around 50.

MUSTARD SEED SCHOOL

The new building of the Mustard Seed School was officially dedicated on the 24th October 2013. We thank God for this wonderful gift through the Dream Church of Pasadena and the Lioness Club of Singapore.


With this new building, we hope to double the enrollment to 300 by end 2014.

Pathway Tropang Tem

The worship hall for Tropang Tem Church is completed. Praise God and thanks friends from Pathway California for their help both funding and labour. We also want to thank Mr. Larry Wong of Faith Methodist Church in Singapore for donating part of the funds for the building.

As the number of young people coming become more and more, we are focusing now on ministry to these people. We are also planning to build another simple building for the English classes. Right now we have around 80 students coming to English Class every Saturday. We are also planning to build a room attach to our present building which will be used as a library. Please pray with us as we need about US$2,500.00 for the new building, books, and furniture.

The Mustard Seed School

Blessing upon blessing, we are also building the second phase of our school building. We hope to move in to this new building before Khmer New Year which will be talking place in the second week of April. By God grace and mercy we had received around US$60,000.00 for the construction from Dream Church in Pasadena LA. We hope more students will be enrolled when we moved in to the new building.
We are in need of another US$10,000.00 to pay for the final payment and for the furniture. So please pray with us.

Church Planting Ministry:

Tropang Tem

About a month ago, we bought a piece of land for Tropang Tem church. The land was once a minefield,

about 500 mines were discovered, now God had given us this land. During the clearing of the land we also found an unexploded RPG rocket. We hope there is no more mine or unexploded grenade in the land. 

To generate income for this church,  we are also planning to plant some fruit trees and vegetables. Right now we are planting corns and other types of vegetable to test the soil to find out what kind of plant would be suitable for this land. Please pray with us that we will have enough money to build fence around the land. We are also in need of a well.

Because it is located nearer to the last stronghold of Khmer Rouge, Tropang Tem Village was under Khmer Rouge control until 1998. Many of the villagers are former Khmer Rouge soldiers. The commune chief was a Khmer Rouge commander. God had led us to this village for a purpose. 

I only found out recently that there is so much hatred among these people.  The old villagers do not like those who had just moved in to this village. One of the villagers told us that only now that they are able to talk to each other. Now the old villagers and the new comers are able to sit together to worship God. God had taken away hatred and brought unity to this village. 

We are planning to build a multipurpose hall on this land. We hope 

to raise about US$7,500.00 for the building.  A friend in Singapore had indicated that he will donate US$2,000.00 for the building. So we are in need of another US$5,500.00.

 Please pray with us that we will have enough funds for the building. We want to thank our friend, Mr. Larry Wong of Faith Methodist Church Singapore for donating the funds to purchase this piece of land.

Pathway Fellowship

            After the Khmer New Year in April, our Sunday school had shrunk. 

Most of the kids are busy helping their

 parents at home. 

The government is relocating people living along the Siem Reap River to another place. So those who are living along the river are preparing to be relocated. Many of Pathway members are also affected.  We do not know yet whether they will be relocated to the same area. So we are now preparing to start another church where our people will be moving to. Although it is affecting our church but there is new opportunity for new ministry. So please keep these people in prayers.

We want to celebrate and give thanks 

to God with Theara, one of our youth. He is going to university this year. Theara  is from a poor family in the slum area. He was given a full scholarship by the Lioness Club to study tourism in one of the biggest university in Siem Reap. His whole family is happy. Theara is very active in ministry. He goes with us every Saturday to the villages to help teaching English and also leading worship. Please pray for him that he will do well in his studies.  

 

Mustard Seed School

The ground floor building of the Mustard Seed School is completed. We praise God for this great blessing. We had dedication service of the new building in March this year. Now the building is ready for classes. We would like to express our thanks to the Lioness of Singapore for donating the funds for the construction. During the opening of the new building the Lioness Club has also given 10 scholarships to the needy students.   
Students, parents and our teachers are so happy with this new building. Students can 
play happily and safely in school compound 
as it is big enough for them to run around.  

As numbers of students keep growing, we are planning to build two more floors up. We pray and trust that our Father in Heaven will provide what is needed for the second phase building.

 

The Mustard Seed School plays very important role in reaching out to the students, their parents and teachers. Two of our teachers and a youth were baptized two weeks ago. Another 10 youth will be baptized in the next few months, after they 
had finished their baptism class. It is our prayer 
and hope that many more of students will
 come to Christ.   

Needy Students:

The Mustard Seed School is located among the poor communities. Many parents are not able to pay full fee and some are not able to pay at all. This year, 35 students are in need of scholarship for their studies. So far we managed to raise fund for 13 students. We are in need of scholarship for 22 more students.

Prayer Requests:

1.      Pray for all our teachers and staffs for wisdom and commitment.

2.      Please pray for all our students and their parents that they will open their hearts to accept Christ as Lord and Saviour.

3.      Please pray for our discipleship program for the village churches.

4.      As this is a raining season we are facing difficulties in our trips to the villages. Please pray for our need of transportation.

5.      We are planning to construct the second phase of the Mustard Seed School building, please pray with us that we will be able to raise enough funds for the construction.
