Our Latest Updates

Church Planting Ministry:
Tropang Tem
About a month ago, we bought a piece of land for Tropang Tem church. The land was once a minefield,
about 500 mines were discovered, now God had given us this land. During the clearing of the land we also found an unexploded RPG rocket. We hope there is no more mine or unexploded grenade in the land.

To generate income for this church,  we are also planning to plant some fruit trees and vegetables. Right now we are planting corns and other types of vegetable to test the soil to find out what kind of plant would be suitable for this land. Please pray with us that we will have enough money to build fence around the land. We are also in need of a well.
Because it is located nearer to the last stronghold of Khmer Rouge, Tropang Tem Village was under Khmer Rouge control until 1998. Many of the villagers are former Khmer Rouge soldiers. The commune chief was a Khmer Rouge commander. God had led us to this village for a purpose.
I only found out recently that there is so much hatred among these people.  The old villagers do not like those who had just moved in to this village. One of the villagers told us that only now that they are able to talk to each other. Now the old villagers and the new comers are able to sit together to worship God. God had taken away hatred and brought unity to this village.

We are planning to build a multipurpose hall on this land. We hope
to raise about US$7,500.00 for the building.  A friend in Singapore had indicated that he will donate US$2,000.00 for the building. So we are in need of another US$5,500.00.
Please pray with us that we will have enough funds for the building. We want to thank our friend, Mr. Larry Wong of Faith Methodist Church Singapore for donating the funds to purchase this piece of land.

Pathway Fellowship
After the Khmer New Year in April, our Sunday school had shrunk.
Most of the kids are busy helping their
 parents at home.

The government is relocating people living along the Siem Reap River to another place. So those who are living along the river are preparing to be relocated. Many of Pathway members are also affected.  We do not know yet whether they will be relocated to the same area. So we are now preparing to start another church where our people will be moving to. Although it is affecting our church but there is new opportunity for new ministry. So please keep these people in prayers.

We want to celebrate and give thanks
to God with Theara, one of our youth. He is going to university this year. Theara  is from a poor family in the slum area. He was given a full scholarship by the Lioness Club to study tourism in one of the biggest university in Siem Reap. His whole family is happy. Theara is very active in ministry. He goes with us every Saturday to the villages to help teaching English and also leading worship. Please pray for him that he will do well in his studies.

Mustard Seed School
The ground floor building of the Mustard Seed School is completed. We praise God for this great blessing. We had dedication service of the new building in March this year. Now the building is ready for classes. We would like to express our thanks to the Lioness of Singapore for donating the funds for the construction. During the opening of the new building the Lioness Club has also given 10 scholarships to the needy students.
Students, parents and our teachers are so happy with this new building. Students can
play happily and safely in school compound
as it is big enough for them to run around.

As numbers of students keep growing, we are planning to build two more floors up. We pray and trust that our Father in Heaven will provide what is needed for the second phase building.

The Mustard Seed School plays very important role in reaching out to the students, their parents and teachers. Two of our teachers and a youth were baptized two weeks ago. Another 10 youth will be baptized in the next few months, after they
had finished their baptism class. It is our prayer
and hope that many more of students will
 come to Christ.

Needy Students:

The Mustard Seed School is located among the poor communities. Many parents are not able to pay full fee and some are not able to pay at all. This year, 35 students are in need of scholarship for their studies. So far we managed to raise fund for 13 students. We are in need of scholarship for 22 more students.

Prayer Requests:
1.      Pray for all our teachers and staffs for wisdom and commitment.
2.      Please pray for all our students and their parents that they will open their hearts to accept Christ as Lord and Saviour.
3.      Please pray for our discipleship program for the village churches.
4.      As this is a raining season we are facing difficulties in our trips to the villages. Please pray for our need of transportation.
5.      We are planning to construct the second phase of the Mustard Seed School building, please pray with us that we will be able to raise enough funds for the construction.

October - December Updates

Pathway Fellowship Cambodia

This year, Pathway Fellowship is 4 years old and it is
growing well. God is so good!

We want to thank our friends and partners for their
prayers and supports in the past years. Without their
prayers and supports, we will not be able to travel
this far.  Our regular attendant is over 100. Pathway
is also reaching out to a few villages. Out two village
churches are also growing well.

This year, Pathway is focusing on Discipleship
and Training. Please join us in prayer as we seek to make disciples for Christ.

Tropang Tem Church

Tropang Tem is a sister church of Pathway. Tropang
Tem is a village about 90 Km from Siem Reap town. Many of the villagers are former Khmer Rouge soldiers.
We started a church in this village about a year ago
and this church is growing well. Every Saturday,
about 25 adults, 45 youths and 25 children attend the fellowship.

We are also running English Classes for Outreach. About 40 students attend the class regularly. We are seeking help for teaching  material for the classes. We are also need help for furniture and shelter for this
outreach program.

In December, we had a combine Christmas
outreach for Tropang Tem and Sakada village.
About 250 villagers came. We want to thank
Faith Methodist Church Team for sponsoring
the program.

Sakada Village

Sakada is another sister church of Pathway Fellowship. This church is also growing well. We've just started another small group in a nearby village. Many of the villagers are alliterated but faithful.

This year, we will focus on discipleship. As many are illiterate, we will have literacy class for our members so that they can learn to read and write. Please join us in prayer for this ministry.

Mustard Seed School

The Construction of the Mustard Seed
School is in progress. We hope the
ground floor will be completed in
about two months. We hope to build
3 storeys building to accommodate
the fast growing of the school. The
number of students we have now
is 160. And we expect another 50
more students will enroll in the
year 2012.
We want to thank the Lioness Club of Singapore for donating fund for the construction of the ground floor. We are in need of another US$68,000.00 for the first and second floor. Please join us in prayer as we continue to raise fund for the next phase of construction.

Christmas Program

This year Christmas program for the
students was wonderful. Students
had their performances and dances
for the first time.

We want to thank the teachers and
staffs for working so hard for
Christmas programs this year.
We also want to thank Faith Methodist
Church Singapore Team for sponsoring the programs.

Community Works

Food Packages for Flood Victims

265 families of flood victims in two villages received food packages. The packages included one water filter, one mozzie net, 50Kg of rice and one box of instant noodle.
We want to thank Faith Methodist Church Singapore for their kind donation to the people in need.

Building new houses
Some houses were damaged during
the heavy flood. The Mustard Seed Fellowship Cambodia together with some of our partners raised some
fund to help repaired and built new houses for those who are badly affected.

 Each new houses cost between
US$400.00 to US$500.00. Many
more poor families are in need
of help to repair and build new
houses.

Digging ponds and wells
Clean water and water shortage
is always a challenge for people in
the villages. The villagers spend
lots of money for medication on
the disease that caused by unclean
water.
Together with our partners, we helped
digging ponds and wells for a few
villages in Siem Reap. We hope to
raise more funds to dig wells and
ponds for more villages. A pond
of 20 meters by 40 meters cost about
US$1,500.00 and a well costs around
US$270.00.

Prayer Requests:
1.                 We are raising more funds for completing 2 more floors of the Mustard Seed School building. Please pray with us that we will be able to raise another US$68,000.00.
2.                 35 students are in need of scholarship for the year 2012. Each student would need US$20.00 per month. Please pray for God’s provision.

New Year Greeting and Updates

Dear Friends and Supporters,
Greeting in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
As we are preparing to welcome the New Year, 2012, allow me to bring you greeting from students, teachers, staffs and congregations of the Mustard Seed School and the Pathway Fellowship Cambodia.
We want to thank you for your prayer, supports and encouragement in the past years. God is good. He had blessed us and our ministry so much.  We always remind ourselves of how we started our journey about 4 years ago. As we looked back to the past we really thank God for His blessing and guidance. We’ve started as a small seed, and now this seed is growing. The school is packed with 160 students. Our present building is too small; we are building a new building. Our church, Pathway Fellowship Cambodia is growing well. Every Sunday the worship hall is packed with 90 children and 60 adults and youths.  Pathway is now reaching out to two villages and the village churches are growing well.
We pray and trust in the Lord that the Mustard Seed School, the church planting ministry and all other ministries of the Mustard Seed Fellowship will continue to grow and reach many more lives in the years to come.
Once again, thank you for all your prayers and supports. Please continue to keep us in prayer and support as we reach many more people.
May God bless you, your family and ministry.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
In His Services,
Rev. Lun Sophy
Pastor, Pathway Fellowship Cambodia
Director, Mustard Seed Fellowship
